Update: Sewing Machines Express will be open with limited hours

Tuesday, May 5th

Sewing Machines Express is open from 10 AM to 3 PM this week and 10 AM to 5 PM next week.
We will be following CDC guidelines and doing everything we can to keep our store as safe as possible. No more than 10 people will be allowed in the store at any  given time, we will be cleaning the store as much as possible, and we will continue to do curbside pick-up and shipping of orders for those who don't feel comfortable coming in-store yet.

It is extremely important that those who do decide to shop in-store with us adhere to CDC social distancing guidelines.

We are also working on getting clubs back up and running, so please stay tuned and keep an eye out for more information on that. Thank you to everyone for your continued support. We are excited to finally be able to see you all back in the store again.

Wednesday, April 1st

As of today, Sewing Machines Express will reopen with limited hours for those in need of materials and machine repair involved in making and donating face masks. We are only able to sell supplies used to make medical personal protection equipment "PPES", per the civil emergency "Stay-At-Home" order issued Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

Update: Stay At Home Order Starting Thursday, March 26

Wednesday, March 25th
A 30 day stay at home order has been announced for Springfield, Missouri, effective this Thursday, March 26th. For more information about this order and what businesses are considered essential, please see this article.

Sewing Machines Express will be closed to the public during this time, so if you need any repairs, please make sure to bring your machine to us before Thursday. If you need to purchase a new machine, give us a call for pricing and sale information.

We are doing our best to keep you happy and keep you sewing during this difficult time. This includes continuing to host our weekly live show, getting repairs done and fulfilling online orders quickly, providing you with sales to keep your sewing room stocked, and just about everything else we can think of.

Sewing Machines Express will be open today until 5 pm, so if you need anything, please give us a call or stop by. All machines are currently on sale.

If you're looking for a new project to keep busy, we've partnered with Anita Goodesign to get you 30% off on their website with our code EXPRESSMARCH. This code is valid until the end of March. This code should work for pretty much everything, but some exclusions do apply.

Please let us know how to best help you as this situation continues. We wish everyone safety and good health over these next 30 days and beyond.

Remember, we will get through this together.

A note regarding COVID-19

First, we hope you and your families are staying safe, practicing social distancing, and keeping up-to-date on what's going on in our world right now.

Your health and safety is our top priority, so we're doing everything we can to keep you safe and keep you quilting. This is a difficult time for everyone, but we want to emphasize that we will get through this together.

A few updates:

  • Sewing Machines Express will temporarily change it's hours to 10 am - 5 pm. However, we are discussing different options for adjusting to a new way of shopping as this situation changes, as it inevitably will.
  • The Embellish event in April is going to be rescheduled. We aren't sure when it will take place at this time due to the uncertain nature of things, but just know that if you have purchased a ticket, your seat will still be reserved for the rescheduled date.
  • Classes, clubs and other gatherings will be limited to the number of approved gathering sizes. We will send out details soon.
  • We will continue to host our weekly live show Make It Sew on Tuesday evenings. We also may add some more live streams throughout the next several weeks. If you do need something to watch, all previous episodes of Make It Sew can be found on our Facebook page.

In store, we're taking steps to help keep you safe and healthy.
Small things like wiping down each machine after it's used, limiting points of contact at the register, using hand sanitizer, and just increasing our cleaning schedule overall help work together to keep you safe as you shop in our store.

We know many people are stuck at home, so we are doing whatever we can to help you continue working on your projects and keeping busy. Whether that means finding new ways to get products to you, putting together projects for you, having sales that allow you to stock up on the materials you need, and more.

If you feel unsafe coming into the store, give us a call and we will be happy to gather your items for you. You can pay over the phone and pick them up curbside if you'd like. If that doesn't work, you can always order online or call in and order and we can ship your items to you.

Throughout this difficult situation, know that all of us at Sewing Machines Express are here for you. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please reach out to us. You can always send an email to sme@sewmachinesexpress.com or give us a call at (417) 886-1230.

For more information about COVID-19, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions' website found here.

We are here for you and we will get through this together.
